This group exhibition consists of selected works from students completing a Diploma of Visual Arts at Albury TAFE. Most of the artworks were created this semester, and demonstrate their exploration of various mediums, including; printmaking, painting, drawing and photography.
Colour and playfulness feature throughout the exhibition in fluorescent spray paint – to the appearance of Parker’s bright green hair (spot it yourself in several of the artworks).
The heritage town Yackandandah, affectionately known as ‘Yack’ provided subject matter for some exhibited works, notably their large-scale shopfront drawings. Heritage and history have been explored throughout the exhibition.
The embroidered photographs were a class project and are quite special. These give a nod to Iwantja artists Vincent Namatjira, Kaylene Whiskey, and recently deceased Tiger Yaltangki. They also feature the iconic Louise Bourgeois, Lee Krasner and her husband Jackson Pollock.
The works here are varied yet speak to one another, they tell a story of each student’s creative output in 2024.
