by TAFE NSW Albury
Visual Arts Diploma Students
23 November to 5 December EXTENDED to 2022
Synergy 2021 is the annual exhibition of work by students of the Diploma in Visual Arts at the Albury Campus of TAFE NSW. Part-time students this year concentrated on Drawing, Painting, Art History and units dealing with safe working and sustaining a career in the creative sector.
Students and their teachers are thrilled to install their work in the Gateway Island Gallery, situated at the halfway mark that joins our border cities.
This terrific group of students have had the opportunity to learn how exhibitions happen! From the initial selection of work at assessment, the careful preparation of work for transportation, the design of the exhibition and the essential promotion, to the very physical installation, the programming and preparation for opening night to the de-installing of the works and ensuring that the space of the gallery is as good as new – this is how all artists learn that there is no magic in exhibitions just hard work.
The 2021 Diploma group has worked hard through this trying Covid 19 period to study and develop their work. On show is a representative selection of work from weekly drawing and painting classes.
The group has learnt new skills, experimented with various media and applied themselves to many different challenges. Welcome to Synergy 2021, we hope you enjoy the works.
